How to Become a Professional Forex Trader

Becoming a Professional FX Trader

Some say that a professional trading career is the most rewarding of all; that there's no other job like it.

But how do you become a professional FX trader and start to manage serious money for a living?

If you ask a group of traders that question, 99 out of 100 times you'll get a different answer. Traders just don't have a clue.

In this blog post, we will compare the traditional versus the "accelerated" approach to reaching pro status.

Becoming a Pro Trader – The Traditional Way

There's really no traditional way to pursue a career in trading, whether you are trading for a prop firm, managing a pool of investor capital as a money manager, or running a hedge fund.

There's no university you can enroll in to become a money manager or to earn a trading degree, like you would a degree in Engineering or Medicine.

You just can't go to FX Trading College and get a Bachelor of Science Degree in proprietary trading and have a guaranteed job as a trader upon graduation. That doesn't exist!

Even though some people recommend earning a Mathematics or Computer Science degree if you want to get hired as a professional trader, we strongly suggest that you don't waste your time and money doing so. Neither degree will help you trade successfully.

Please don't get us wrong. We're not trying to downplay the value of a higher education by any means. Having an education is important. We're just letting you know that if what you want is to manage money in foreign exchange for a living, you should look outside university walls.

Many people out there will disagree, since some traditional investment firms do look for "prestigious" degrees from the likes of Harvard or Yale before their secretaries even give you a job interview; but these are the same firms that have been managing stock mutual funds under-performing the market averages for eons. Skilled traders or those who want to learn how to successfully manage capital in FX should avoid these traditional firms like the plague.

So is there a more effective way to Pro Trader stardom?

The "FastTrack" Solution

The FastTrack solution is nothing more than an accelerated program for those who want to trade capital at a professional level for a living.

If you are yearning for a job trading currencies in a pro capacity, our FastTrack program would be ideal for you.

A big difference over the traditional approach described above is that we won't force you to get a 4-year degree to then discover that you either don't know how to trade or that trading is just not for you. That definitely would not be a "fast" or efficient solution.

No matter what your current trading experience or success level is, the objective of the program is to put you on a "track" and accelerate you to the end, where your destination is trading professionally for a living.

The trading strategies we teach you to help you get there are proprietary, practical, and powerful. It's not a course in Economics (Economists are horrible traders). Nor is it an exhaustive lesson in the fundamental variables that affect the price of currencies (they are infinite!). What we'll teach you is practical – nothing else. That is the only way to minimize the time it will take you to reach your destination.

And if you're thinking whether or not this training is the most important part of the FastTrack program, think again…

We are not an educational company per se. Most of those companies try to teach you the "secrets of trading" in their 3,000-dollar seminars or to sell you a $200-a-month subscription to a Magical Trading Robot that will turn your $500 into $5 Million in 24 hours or less. Our education is actually free. All we ask is that you trade with us to get it.

FastTrack is a program of opportunity. It is created to open doors for you; doors into the Pro Trading world.

How Does FastTrack Help Me Manage Money Professionally?

When you become an experienced and successful trader with good risk-adjusted returns (whether or not you received your training from us), we will give you access to trading capital.

Whether the allocation comes from our own capital (if you become one of our prop guys) or from our investors (if you become one of our portfolio managers), the opportunity will be there if and when you're ready for it.

This is the opposite of the traditional "pay-for-education" approach that's so common nowadays, which leaves a trader on his own after they pay for a product. Companies that utilize this business model do not give traders access to trading capital nor provide them with trading opportunities.

So if you interested in accelerating your progress towards a professional trading career in foreign exchange, our FastTrack program is the answer.

Forex Traders who are already successful and experienced should complete our recruitment form online.

Those who are just starting out, want to improve their trading results, or don't have a lot of real trading experience should visit our page on professional trading (at this link) and take advantage of our FastTrack training.

If this does not sound like a unique and attractive solution to you, think carefully about your options. There's always the "traditional" approach to fall back on!!! Any trader out there with 5 to 10 years to waste?!?!?!?

I think you summarized the road-map to achieving a successful trading career. Good training is it.

Yes Godfrey. Good training is important to even have a chance at reaching the pro trader level, but it’s not the only thing. You also have to bust your arse and work on training for your mind, since success in trading is mostly affected by mental factors. Good luck.

Yeah… that’s true. Like myself I’ve been in forex for over 5yrs now and I boiled my ass for many hours each day trying to master it. Though it took lots of hard work and commitment. It took so long because there were no training detail enough available at as the time. But at least the self training paid off that I can now confidently take a head dive into the market anytime I like and get out with profits because I’m no longer influenced by emotions in my trading just like you rightly pointed out as being a mental factor that affects the performance in trading.

Well put Godfrey. You highlight some important experiences that traders go through. Unfortunately, most don’t make it. By the way, if you ever want to give money management a shot and think that your performance is acceptable on a risk adjusted basis, please let us know. Cheers!

Well… what else can I say. Honestly I appreciate the time you took to read my post. Thanks and yes I’m interested in giving Money Management a shot and it will be my utmost pleasure if given the opportunity.
